Spelling Bee

This is Jace with his certificate. He was so proud.Jace was chosen to be in the Kindergarten Spelling Bee for his class. There were five other contenders for the Kindergartners. He did an amazing job. He didn't win, but they were on First Grade words. They went 15 rounds, more than any of the other grades did.
This is the Principal giving the Kinders a pep talk before the big show.
This picture is hard to see him but he got up in front of all these people and spelled 13 words correctly. We are so proud of him!! We worked on the words from a list they had given us and when we went on to the First Grade words Jace told me they were too hard. He didn't want to do them. He can read them and knows them, but as a Mom I think he just gets lazy. I can't blame him.

Way to go Jace! You did a great job! 13 words are a lot of words for a Kindergartener.

Oh I saw in the Kindergarten Email that Jace was the representative, so great! I'm sure this won't be his last Spelling Bee. He is such a smart kid! Think of all the public speaking he has already done at such a young age :)
