A Week Down.......

Last Monday; July 18th Caelin and Jace started school. Yes on modified year round school starts the middle of July, but when the temperature is so hot it is just as well they are in school. Come September and October we will enjoy cooler weather and a 3 week break.

Caelin is now in the 5th grade (holy cow where did the time go? I would swear I was just volunteering in Kindergarten) She has Ms. Condley as her teacher this year (our first choice) and Caelin has had nothing but good to say about her. Because of the overcrowding at Sycamore the 5th grade classrooms are all over on the Middle School campus. I was a little concerned at first but I think it will be just fine. Next year it will be Middle School for Caelin.

Jace has just started 3rd grade and has Mrs. Irvin (who is Ms. Condley's younger sister), Jace is thrilled to have her (also our first choice). Caelin and Jace get to be reading buddies every other Friday (fun for them to be together, maybe). He says he really likes Mrs. Irvin and class has been fun, hope that it stays that way and the newness doesn't wear off too soon.

Their first day of school Jeff was off work and he drove them to school in the Corvette, I am sure they felt like a million bucks whether or not they would admit it, I sure would have if it had been me.

We are excited for another year at Sycamore and the great teachers the kids once again have gotten. Best of luck Caelin and Jace, may you both get straight A's, stay out of trouble, and most of all enjoy your year.

Projects, Projects, and more Projects.........

This past month or should I say past 6 years has been one project after another. We tiled the laundry room, thanks to some help from Jeff's friend Jeff. It looks absolutely amazing. Still a few finishing touches to add but things are coming together.

We had a visit from Jeff's mom and step dad and we got some more rock down around the yard, it is exhausting work but the way it looks after is so worth it.

We did have some fun while they were here. We had a party for Jett, went to see Cars 2, we drove up Mt. Lemon, did some shopping, and ate (I gained a few pounds over the four days)

Jett and Calissa at the movie!

Our drive up Mt. Lemon (Grandma and the boys)

I started a painting project in the master bed/bathroom that turned into a much bigger project than I had hoped for. It too looks so much better and I wonder why I didn't start it sooner. It also needs a bit more work and some finishing touches but it looks so much better.

The weather has been so nice with the monsoons that I started clearing out the front yard to put rock in there.....

I have been quite ambitious this past month if I do say so myself. With the ambition also comes the exhaustion which is where I am today so I am sitting here blogging.

Now Jeff has been a big part in most of the projects (I did the painting and the front yard), but his never ending project is the block wall. His friend Jeff has been out to help a few days but he is making progress. He is close to having some block all the way around it will still take a while to get it up high enough but it is just a matter of time. He will get there!

Found this monster in the hot tub (YUCK!!!!)

A few happenings around this house but we are off for next weekend for a little get a way it can't be all work or we would get burned out!

Well Baby Updates

I took Jett and Calissa in for their well-child check ups and this is what they did....

Jett at 3 years (still hard for me to believe)

38 inches tall (64%)
31 pounds (44%)
15.1 Body Mass Index (21%)

He looked great and did all the things he should be doing, except for the potty training thing. Happy to say he is doing much better this week.

Calissa at 19 months and 15 days (a little overdo for her 18 month check)

32.5 inches tall (60%)
22 pounds, 12 ounces (21%)

She has recovered well from her drop in growth and doing and talking and helping just like she should.

I am so grateful for healthy happy kids.

Jett turned 3!!!!!

Jett loves the pumpkin cookies/muffins so that is what we made.

Where oh where has the past three years have gone. Before I know it he will be in school and doing all that other stuff on his own. Just a few words (or more) to describe Jett.....funny, cute, ornery, mischievous, talker, big brother, little brother, daddy's helper, momma's boy, and an overall fun kid to be around.

Jett loves to be outside and be the boss of Calissa. If we are gone from home he always wants to go home. He still asks to go to Charley's house when we are headed the way of her "old" house. He makes us laugh when he wants to and makes us scream when he wants to.

They had fun licking the beaters!!

We didn't have a big party but he was as happy as can be with his party!

Happy Birthday little buddy I love you lots!
