Airport Adventure!!

Our trip to Indiana was so eventful, just let me explain. We drove to my sister's Christmas night and left the 26th from her house at 5:30 in the morning. Our flight from Phoenix to Dallas was uneventful. We left Dallas an hour late going to Chicago which put us short on time for our connection in Chicago. We made it and was on the plane to Fort Wayne and was pushing back from the gate when the pilot came on and said there was bad weather and we would not be leaving. So we got off and tried to rent a car. Every car rental place was sold out. So we rebooked for the following day. The 10:00 flight was sold out so we took the last four seats on the 2:00 p.m. flight. So we decided to get a hotel room for the night instead of staying in the airport with three kids. The room was nice and we slept good, but we had no luggage so we didn't have a change of clothes (for Jeff and I this was the worst). So we slept in and got to the airport a little early and was waiting for our flight so we were hanging out by the gate. It came time for our flight to board and they weren't boarding us so I went to check at the gate to find out what was happening and they told me the flight had been cancelled. So here we were again stuck in Chicago airport. There still were no cars available except for one who wanted to charge us $300.00 for one day, so we decided not to go with that. We started checking and found a bus that would take us to South Bend which was about an hour from Jeff's mom so she said she would pick us up. The other issue was we had no luggage. Jeff's step dad pick up our luggage at our final destination (which made it and we didn't). So after 2 LONG days we finally made it to Grandma and Grandpa's and we are thrilled. Hope our trip home is much less eventful.

Wow Casey! I guess we weren't the only ones with bad weather. I feel blessed that we were just home and not dealing with it like you guys did. Hopefully you were able to enjoy the time being together as a family while you waited and now you can enjoy Dave and Jean. Happy New Year!
