School is in Session!

Today was day 2 of school for Caelin and Jace which meant I had the whole day with just Jett and I. Jeff called early Monday morning to see if the house was too quiet. I told him absolutely not, I was going to enjoy it for the next few months until the baby came. I thought Jett would be lonely and be wanting the kids but I think he is enjoying our one-on-one time as much as I do. It really has been heavenly, that may sound bad, but it is true.

Caelin loves her new teacher, Ms. Lopez, and has had two great days with her. She is really excited about school and is happy to be back. I hope that stays with her when the homework piles up and things get a little tougher for her. She does not do well under pressure. It really isn't that she can't do things, but would do so much better if she would relax and take things in stride. She gets a little to uptight.

Jace was just as excited for 1st grade so he could go all day as well as his teacher Mrs. Cupell, (she was Caelin's 1st grade teacher). He is not one that gets uptight about things he goes with the flow and I am positive he will have an amazing year this year. Hopefully he will continue to want to learn and do as well as I know he can. Thanks to a great school and great teachers my kids are doing amazing in school, they get that from there dad and not me! Jace was the most excited about his new D-backs backpack, he had to get it in the picture.

1 year Stats!

Jett had his one year check up and this is what the stats say:

Height - 29.5 inches 41%

Weight - 20lbs 9 oz. 19%

Head - 47cm 68%

He hates the Dr.'s office no matter what it is for. Maybe one day he will get used to it.

Weekend Getaway!

Last weekend the kids and I were able to drive up to Nephi, UT to visit with my sister Sherra and her family. We had the best time up there, the only thing that would have made it better was having Jeff with us. Nephi was having their annual Ute Stampede, and on Friday we went to a parade that my sister and nieces were in, and then that night went to a Rodeo, (a first for my kids). They had "The Wild Child" at the rodeo as a rodeo clown/comedian/dirt bike trickster (if you ever have a chance to see him it is so worth it). My sister and I were laughing so hard we were crying. It was non-stop laughter for the whole 2 1/2 hours. It really was an amazing day and whole weekend. Thanks Sherra, John and girls for making it so memorable for us. I did go up there hoping for a break from the heat but the day of the parade and rodeo it was at least 95 degrees.

Caelin, Jace, and Savanna waiting for the next float to get candy.

Samantha in her cute cheer uniform!

Shayla in her cute cheer uniform! They really did look nice!

Sherra and her float, she had to guide the driver.

Waiting for the parade to start.

Jett enjoying some of the candy Aunt Sherra kept giving him at the rodeo.

Jace enjoying the rodeo.

Shayla and Caelin enjoying the rodeo.

The start of the rodeo. SIMPLY AMAZING! This was such a neat thing to see. The jumper brought the flag in and some of the Air Force group picked it up as they did the National Anthem. It was really neat to see.

At the end of the rodeo they had groups go out and do a coin dig, yes dig in the arena with dirt and who knows what else. My kids loved it but they didn't get any money.

"The Wild Child" jumped over this long ways. It was such a great show from start to finish.

Thanks again to the Carter's for making it soooo much fun!

Happy 1st Birthday!!!!

It is really hard for me to believe that a year has gone by already. Jett has been such a great addition to our family. He is the one that keeps us laughing. At a year old he isn't officially walking but took his first little step today. He waited until the last possible moment and then decided he would do it. He will be officially walking in the next week or so I am sure of it.

At a year old he is our family comedian. He is lovable and easy going. He doesn't like strangers and is very much a Mommy/Daddy boy. He loves to be outside with his dad no matter what is happening. He is a good eater and will try anything, but he lets you know if he doesn't like it. He loves to read books, but doesn't like it if you try to read the book to him, (he wants to do it himself).

Just a few pictures from the birthday party:

The BEST PART "CAKE"

He really got embarrassed when we started to sing to him. As you can see he loved the cake.

The 2nd best part "PRESENTS"!!

Hope he likes them all, he sure was enjoying them as he opened each one up! Thanks to everyone.

"I am officially a year old I can start walking" "I think I can, I think I can"

He will stand like that for quite a while and laugh and is very steady. He is just not quite sure how to get the legs to move for him.

4th of July!

We had an amazing time in Luna for the 4th of July weekend. We are ready to go back and get out of the heat. Yes for the first time the heat is really getting to me. The temperature up there was perfect, we had a little rain everyday but nothing major just enough to keep the dust down.

Our Campsite

The Camp Clown

Jett had a great time with Brinlee!!

The babies waiting for the show to start inside the warm truck, (it was a little chilly that night)

The other two waiting for the fireworks to start. They made some friends sitting there and got a few things to play with while they waited.

After church we went up to the cemetery to check on the brothers! It really is just beautiful up there.

They really are photogenic when they want to be!!!

Jett absolutely loved the Rhino and the quad. Jeff took Caelin and Jace on a ride and left Jett with me and as soon as they started them up Jett started to whimper and crawl towards Jeff, he was ready to go.

Monday morning all five of us went on a nice long ride. Caelin and Jace are so good at riding, they were "born to ride". We did have one incident Caelin was going down a steep hill and ended up with the quad on top of her. It scared her but there was no blood or broken bones. She laughs about it now. It was a good learning experience for her.

And yes even I went on the ride, it was quite calm. We are still teaching Jace a few techniques, so it was great for him and he loved it.

Chocolate Gravy.....

In my family we have a tradition of biscuits with chocolate gravy. I loved it as a kid and still do, although my taste buds have changed somewhat I enjoy a more traditional sausage gravy. My kids on the other hand love the chocolate and little Jett is no different. I made it over the weekend and gave him some for the first time and as you can tell from picture he absolutely loved it. This kid will eat just about anything and he eats alot. He out-ate his BIG brother Jace this morning. He ate 2 1/2 pancakes while Jace was good with 2. They say he is dropping on his weight and height percentages at the Dr., but that is definately not because he doesn't eat.

Roosevelt Lake 2009!!!

Wow I can't believe our family reunion has already come and gone. After 8 days my kids were worn out, but after just one day of being home we were all ready to go back. My family loves this great time with cousins, aunts and uncles, grandma's and grandpa's, and maybe not so much with Mom and Dad. Thanks a ton to Mom and Dad/Grams and Papa for making this week so much fun and mostly keeping us fed. There is so much work that goes into this great week, but my parents love to do it just to get everyone together. "Thanks Mom and Dad you really are the best"!

Caelin loved the knee board she would get out there and try to do tricks and just be laughing. She also loved the tubes which for some reason there are no pictures to post of those. She really has gotten brave this year and she would compete with the big boys/girls to see who could stay on the longest and she won on more than one occasion.

Jace loved the tubes as well, he figured out that he could stand up on them and try to surf while they were moving, he thought that was quite fun. He also loved to go fishing with Austin and even though he didn't catch anything he went back time and time again. Jace also was a bit of a daredevil, his uncle Trym took him to jump off a quite high (so I am told) cement pylon into the water. Some of the older kids said it was scary but according to Jace he climed right up and was the first one to jump in.

These two were inseperable for most of the week. Jeff was off all week except for Friday. Everywhere Jeff went Jett was there with him.

Jett loved the water even though I thought is was a bit chilly. When we made him get in the boat to leave he was not very happy.

He loved the water, the food, the boat, and most of all having his daddy right there with him all week long.

And then there is Jeff....I told somebody that when I saw him barefoot and then wakeboard I decided I liked him. He is a show-off for sure, but he is good at it.

Look at that AIR?!?!?

What an amazing time we had. So much at not near enough pictures to do the week justice. Other than the water sports, the kids also loved roasting marshmallows, eating homeade ice cream (almost every night), eating Papa's good food, and mostly just being outside to run and roam as they please.

And as for me it was just relaxing (even though I didn't get near as much sleep as I needed, unlike Sherra). I felt great and the kids were happy, who could ask for anything more.
