It's A Girl!!!

Calissa finally arrived. She was born December 4, 2009 at 9:31 p.m. She weighed in at 8 pounds even and 20 3/4 inches long. She had a few issues coming into this world but she is happy and healthy. She was face up and bruised her forehead. Because of her positioning I felt a lot of labor towards the end even with the epideral. Why anyone would choose all natural is beyond me.

"She looks a little traumatized from the ordeal but is doing well now".

We were a little concerned as to how Jett would react to this new little person taking his territory but so far so good. The first evening was a little rough, but he hadn't had a good nap that day and I am sure that contributed to his attitude.

"I think he is going to be just fine"

We are adjusting to a busier house and precious baby.

"Aren't they cute"

Of all the kids Caelin was the most excited for the little sister.

Halloween 2009

So I am a little late and don't have all the pictures yet but here are just a couple to see the cute trick-or-treaters we had. Thanks to the Kahler Crew for having us over once again. We had a great evening and got more than enough candy.

So this year we had a Pirate (with the nails and all), a Darth Vader, a skeleton, and an eight month pregnant Mom!

Weekend Project/Fun!

So the work on the wall has officially begun. It looks so nice but has also been a lot of work, and we are just getting started (about 30 feet of a 340 foot wall). Jeff needs the manual labor but this project will be a long lasting one. Here are some pictures of the progress. Also over the weekend Caelin and Jace found a new toy. It started out as a piece of wood on a small pile of dirt. With a dad as an Engineer in the end they ended up with this. This was a whole new experience for them. I was telling them that when I was there age we had teeter-totters at school, and they were a little bummed out that they didn't have one at school. They sure did enjoy the homemade job they came up with.

Rock Star Hair Day!!

So today at school was rock star hair day! The kids were so excited to have crazy hair. Caelin has always been so nervous about doing it, but has come out of her shell and Jace doesn't care what people think (most of the time). They both had a fun day with wild hair and had to tell me about all the kids that had cool hair and what they did.

A Day For Two!

Last Christmas Jeff and I got a gift from my sister that included a day at the lake for the two of us. Also included was a boat, a babysitter for 3 kids, and lunch, snacks and drinks. It was a great day I told my Dad that it just amazed me how the conversation changes when there are no kids and no where you have to be. The weather was beautiful until about 2:30 and we loaded up to come home. The water was refreshing, cool enough that it felt good when you got in. My sister was a little worried that summer was about over and we hadn't cashed in on the coupon yet. The timing couldn't have been better for weather. My sister said that Jett was the easiest kid to have around. She definitely doesn't have a child proof house and at a year and walking everywhere I was a little nervous. She was impressed how well he entertained himself and just played so well even with just one little nap. The kids all had a great day swimming and playing with cousins, so all in all it was one great day. Best of all it was a great day for two (Jeff and I)!! Thanks Dad and Jonna for a great gift.

Labor Day 2009!

Labor Day is one of our favorite weekends of the year. This is my cute parents that make the weekend possible for so many of us to get together. We try to extend it by a day or two if possible. This year was no different, we left Wednesday night after school/work and got home late Monday night. My Mom and Dad had to leave the weekend before so they could have alone time before all of us show up. We go up to the mountains (the White Mountain area) in New Mexico on the New Mexico/Arizona border. I grew up there and didn't appreciate the beauty until I was gone. This was our 3rd trip up there this summer, partly because I needed out of the heat, and also the kids and Jeff love it up there. Caelin and Jace asked me if we could live up there, I could handle the summer but I don't like the cold so winter would be an issue. I told them though that they had a much better school to go to, and the fact Jeff couldn't make a living up there. They will have to settle for our weekend getaways during the summer. Jett loves it the most (if that is possible) he follows his Dad around where ever he goes and helps when ever he can. If his Dad leaves and he is not with him he gets a little upset. Just a few pictures of them and what they love to do together.

This is also a great time with cousins. Here is a little clip of Jace and his cousin Devon, Jace is the one on the blue quad.

They all had a great time, but with so much play time and not enough sleep we were all wiped out Tuesday and Wednesday. This is how Jett got his naps during the day, he was too dirty to put in his bed and to ornery to even try and take a nap when he was with his Dad.

The cute cousins, Kysen and

Jett, playing in the dirt like true little "boys".

Kysen playing with his Dad.

Thanks Mom and Dad for such an amazing weekend. We all enjoyed it so much and can't wait until next year and celebrate 45 years with you and hopefully we will all be there.
